As you are aware, all of SEPTA's Silverliner V Regional Rail cars were removed from service as result of a defect discovered in the cars on July 1st. Throughout the Regional Rail reduction, SEPTA has provided frequent updates on the topic.
With a substantial number of Silverliner V cars returned to service, coupled with leased equipment from other transit agencies, regular weekday service will resume on Monday, October 3, 2016.
All Regional Rail lines will return to following the timetables published on June 19th, with exception of the Media/Elwyn line. The Media/Elwyn line’s new timetable will be published Sunday, October 2nd.
There will be some changes to four specific trains departing Center City. Please view the details at SEPTA’s Silverliner V Recovery page.
Interim Shuttle Bus Service
SEPTA has been operating interim shuttle bus service throughout September to increase capacity along the system. These interim bus services will no longer operate after the PM trip on Friday, September 30th.
Weekday PM Fare Collection
SEPTA will continue to validate and inspect tickets/passes/transit ID during the weekday PM rush at all Center City Stations – Temple, Jefferson, Suburban, 30th, and University City – between the hours of 3:00PM – 7:00PM. Please present your fare to the Fare Collection staff prior to going to the platform.
No cash fares will be accepted as pre-boarding payment. Fares must be purchased in advance at the sales window and presented to Fare Collection staff.
Greater details—including links to schedules—about the return to regular weekday service are available at SEPTA’s Silverliner V Recovery website: http://www.septa.org/service/rail-service-returns.html.
In addition, RideECO continues to follow the topic closely and will share updated information via our Facebook and Twitter feeds.
